Some children extend their understanding of change by sequencing three images. Children increase their vocabulary by including phrases such as in my parents or grandparents’ time.
Activity 1
Research when the changes in transport they identified in KQ5 took place and put them on class transport timeline marked with key dates. ( School to provide)
Activity 2 – Setting: then and now
Pupils place images of different forms of transport in ‘then and now’ piles.
Activity 3 – Anachronism- challenging
Pupils work out which forms of transport shown in the PowerPoint (slide number 4) would NOT have been there when the first motor car took to the road.
Activity 4 – Time Teams-optional
Pupils work in groups of 4 to see if they can place pictures of old forms of transport in approximate chronological order. One member from each team pulls a picture from timebox and then sticks it on
