How well do you and your pupils understand the Anglo-Saxons? Diagnostic Smart Task

This short activity contains a number of statements about the Anglo-Saxons (RS1) which can be used diagnostically. Some are correct: some partially accurate; others downright wrong. But what will your pupils think? To make this a genuine learning experience, as well as an informal assessment task, I have added some supplementary detail which either extends the statement or corrects it, effectively giving you both the right answers and supporting information (RS2). All statements refer to content covered in the medium-term planner and the outstanding lessons.  All pupils have to do is to place the statements either on a spectrum (not supplied) which ranges from: ‘Completely true’ through ‘Partly true’ to False, at the other end. Alternatively, pupils can simply write CT (completely true), PT or F next to the statements
