KS2 Assessment Tasks

These KS2 history assessment tasks provide practical ways to assess pupils’ historical knowledge, understanding and disciplinary thinking across a range of Key Stage 2 history topics. Rather than relying simply on factual recall, the tasks help teachers assess how well pupils can use historical evidence, explain cause and consequence, recognise change and continuity, understand historical significance and evaluate different interpretations of the past.

Our primary history assessment resources include carefully designed tasks for topics such as Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, the Romans, Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, Stone Age to Iron Age, Early Islamic Civilisation, the Maya, Tudors, Victorians and World War Two. Many use unfamiliar sources, images and historical situations so that teachers can see whether pupils can apply what they have learned rather than simply reproduce previously taught answers.
