So you have you set of mini whiteboards, your zip bag of pens and your whiteboard cleaners.  What next?

Mini-whiteboards have multiple uses in primary history lessons. You don’t need me to tell you them as you are only too well aware from your effective use across other areas of the curriculum. I just want to highlight a few subject-specific purposes and strategies. The list is not meant to be exhaustive by any means.

Why use them?

I’ll just spell out 3 examples I saw recently.

Example 1

Pupils were given a puzzle for which there were multiple possible answers. The teacher didn’t want them to write their ideas on paper as she felt it might make them worried about whether their answers were correct. She wanted them to take risks. Using mini-whiteboards successfully gave the pupils confidence to offer a wider range of ideas which chimed with the nature
