The Place of Knowledge In Primary History

The place of knowledge shows how substantive and disciplinary knowledge intertwine. They need to be seen together, a continuous interplay. The wording of the enquiry questions show the content to be learned and applied as well as the focus of the enquiry (whether it is change, evidence , interpretations etc). Getting this right, and building a consistency of approach across year groups, is one of the most important things a subject leader can do.
