I’m sure you has pretty limited expectations of what exemplication of grade 1-9 flightpath might look like . So its not surprising that the publication from the DfE seems to have passed most of us by. You can see why. Not only are we provided with just grades 2, 5 and 8, we are also served up the usual vague and woolly phrases which send us all off in search of spurious precision. If defining grades 1,3,4,6,7 and 9 was so easy, why haven’t they just done it for us. If it is so difficult, then why expect poor beleaguered teachers to do it on their own with not a snowball in hell’s chance of achieving even the most rudimentary consistency.
