Simple guide to progression in history

I am often emailed for advice on progression in history as if this sort of wisdom could be dispensed meaningfully in a short reply.I usually refer them to the generic advice on the site and then , far more importantly to the key stage progression ladders showing what it means to get better at different parts of history learning . This is detailed and time-consuming to get your head round but it is where the real development of understanding of progression begins.
