As the history currciulum is now in a pretty steady state in most schools, it seems that teachers now have the time to invest in looking at how to assess pupils’ historical understanding. I’m pleased to report a growing use of the popular assessment tasks which we have made available at KS1 , 2 and 3. Each has their own markscheme linked loosely to natuonal expectations. Site users are reporting very interesting results and are particulalrly pleased with the way the markschemes help them to feed forward showing what pupils need to do to improve.
