So where did Caesar really land?

If ever you need proof that history is constantly being rewritten look at Leicester University’s research published today which claims that Caesar landed at Ebbfleet on the Isle of Thanet..

A Roman spearhead  has been found in a defensive ditch which matches examples found from Caesar’s battlefields in Gaul a few years later. Furthermore next to the spearhead were fragments of pottery that have been radiocarbon dated to the first century BC. It is very different from eapons used a hundred years later when Claudius invaded.

All this is  bad news for Walmer of course which has a plaque commemorating the site of Caesar’s landing.
